How To Protect Yourself From Sun While Traveling To Pakistan This Summer
Sure, everyone wants a day out, but absolutely not at a cost of a nasty sunburn! Unfortunately, the maximum traveling within Pakistan takes place during the summer holidays.
With summer comes the fun, but also deeper burns from the sun! This summer, if you are planning for a voyage, keep in mind the following precautionary travel tips compiled by Guestkor to protect your precious skin from the harsh sun rays! Apply a good sunscreen all the way According to the American Academy of Dermatology, it is always wise to choose a sunscreen that offers broad-spectrum protection against UVA and UVB rays, is SPF 30 or higher, and is water resistant.
Not every expensive looking sunscreen is excellent for your skin. Whenever selecting a sunscreen, don’t just be convinced by the SPF 100 label. Always look and ask for the real evidence that your sunscreen labeled with SPF higher than 50 actually also offers a significantly different in protection than SPF 50.
Tip: Always check the expiry date of your sunscreen lotion before applying it to your skin. Remember, every sunscreen solution loses its effectiveness after 3 years of its production. Hence, no matter what the expiry date might be, always check the date of manufacturing. Try sun protective clothing Sometimes not even the long-sleeved clothes can protect you from the scorching heat of the sun.
Unlike the commonly held belief that cotton or linen clothing is much more heat protective than other fabric materials, Synthetic fibers (like polyesters or lycra) are more advisable to be worn during this season. Tip: Avoid wearing dark colored dresses in this weather and maximum use of light shade fabric. Protect your Scalp This is mostly the most ignored part! Even your scalp needs to be protected from the scorching sunny heat.
Carry a hat or a scarf at all times. If you don’t feel like covering your head, then you may use one of the sun protective hair sprays to avoid greasy hair during summers. Find a suitable time for all your outdoor activities The hours between 10 AM – 4 PM have the maximum sun intensity.
Avoid all your outdoor activities during this time and manage your schedule in a way that most of your outdoor chores can be completed early in the morning or after sunset. Keep checking your skin regularly Keep checking for any marks or any changes in your skin regularly. Never take any change lightly and report it to your general physician immediately.
Don’t wait for the symptoms to get worse to contact your doctor. Ideally, you should pay a visit to your physician time to time to get any changes in health identified beforehand. Protect your eyes Buy a pair of good and reliable sunglasses which provides 100 percent UV protection.
It does not have to be super pricy from a top notch brand. Any decent brand that provides trusted products should be good enough.
