It is 4 kilometers from the Pak-India border. Kartarpur was established by the founder of Sikh religion Baba Guru Nanak Dev Ji in 1522 and is the location of Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib, the first Gurdwara ever built, where Guru Nanak is said to have died.
