Pakistan Abolishes NOC for Foreign Tourists
For a while, Pakistan's tourism policies have always required NOC certification for foreign tourists to come and enjoy the rich festivities that the country has to offer.
This has actually hindered the country going forward in terms of the tourism sector and made it difficult for foreign guests to come and enjoy themselves. Until Now: The following article hopefully clears it up.
Even before the elections, it was one of PTI and Imran Khan's manifesto to promote the aspect of tourism in the country. The party believed that there is untapped potential in Pakistan with the tourism department being a heavy hitter in terms of revenue and positive exposure for the country.
Fast forward to now and the now Prime Minister Imran Khan is keeping his promise in making tourism in Pakistan a large priority. He and his party have already taken drastic steps in ensuring that Pakistan becomes an attractive proposition for foreign tourists.
The Prime Minister has already launched a new E-Visa Policy for the tourism department and they've continued that trend with the abolishment of the Non-Objection Certificate(NOC) for all foreign guests that aim to visit the country in the near future. What is a Non-Objection Certificate? The Non-Objection Certificate (NOC) is a legal certificate issued by an agency or the government (most of the Indian Subcontinent) that allows for the holder to hold trading, traveling, etc and there would be no objection from the issuer.
The government further hopes to improve the tourism sector of the country with such policies, hoping that such would not only increase the number of tourists in the country but promote a positive, vibrant and respectful image of Pakistan in years to come.
