The beautiful and scenic valley of #Kumrat is situated in #Upper_Dir district at a distance of 1.5 hrs from Thal town. Thal is also a beautiful town located on the confluence of rivers flowing from Budwai pass and Kumrat and is a center point while moving to Kumrat and Jahaz Banda. Upto Thal, there is no problem for a sedan car but jeep has to be hired from Thal for moving onwards to Jahaz banda and Kumrat. We hired a three door parado for 14000 rupees. The jeep remained with us for three days and took us to the approachable points of Kumrat and Jahaz Banda.There is no road after Thal on either side, yet the paved path is there for a jeep or mini SUVs. Its must to reach Kumrat valley well before evening so that there is plenty of time for planned activities. If we leave Islamabad at 4 am, we can reach Kumrat around 4 pm by #road_travel. There are cheap hotels. One room with four beds, we got in 1200 rupees for one night. Its better to have own camping arrangement considering cleanliness. If not, at least own blanket and bed sheet is must. For BBQ and other cooking, grocery can be purchased from Thal or before Thal. We had our own pressure cooker, gas cylinder with stove and BBQ accessories with us while we purchased grocery from Wari, Upper Dir. Points to visit in Kumrat valley are countless, yet the well renowned points are Kumrat waterfall and Kala pani. They are in the access of jeeps. Peace of surroundings and environment and mesmerizing beauty of the valley left us stunned and we were amazed at God's creation. Weather remains cold through out the year so must have your jackets, shawls with you even if you have planned to visit in the month of June. We had spent a night in Kumrat, heaven side hotel and next day afer visiting waterfall and kala pani, we left the valley for a hiking adventure to Jahaz Banda.
