According to the World Travel and Tourism Council, the total contribution of travel & tourism to the GDP of Pakistan was 6.9% in the year 2014 and is expected to rise by 5.6% per annum by 2025.

The government has invested in various establishments like ‘Metro Bus’, ‘Sightseeing Lahore’, ‘See Islamabad’ and ‘Karachi-Gwadar Ferry Service’ that is all set to boost the tourism industry. Private organizations have also taken certain steps.
